General Description and Classification Standards
Defines, designs and implements network communications and solutions. This is a fully seasoned professional level (Senior level) capable of carrying out most assignments typical of the profession with limited guidance or review. This level would be considered a promotional level and attainable by any incumbents in a work group who demonstrate the necessary knowledge, ability and performance.
Supervision Received
Works under very general supervision. Depending on organization structure, may work independently with responsibility for an assigned function or program.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. May perform other duties as assigned. Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Sets up administrator and service accounts. Maintains system documentation. Tunes system performance. Installs system wide software and allocates mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software and coordinates installation and back up recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Provides training to other employees.
Also, will be responsible for assisting with researching, supporting airport services\request that include the following: design, systems integration and testing, configuration management (software); system monitoring, end user support for commercial off-the-shelf (COTS); Ensure that the technical design, installation, and implementation of the critical airport systems meet the requirements and IT standards. Provide support on the integration of existing software products and create new interface points as required; creating software technical specifications and perform system integration testing on Airport and Business system (i.e. CCTV, Building Management, Parking, Security etc.)
Provide general and technical application support and maintenance including troubleshooting, investigating problems, modifying programs and processes, making operational enhancements. Ensure the design is suitable and meets the level of functionality required by the user and developer. Design, analyze, configure, develop, assist with testing, and maintenance of department systems and update department websites, dynamic and interactive pages, web-based application, custom web reports, data extracts, multimedia-based layout, graphics, animation, and web video as needed. Provide technical recommendations to staff and customers; research new technology\trends and make recommendations to department for software and equipment purchases. Provide a solid working knowledge of systems programming concepts and applications, data quality control and quality assurance techniques.
Manage the system service level performance and ensure that the system is available and reliable. Provide oversight and management for monitoring Airport application systems. Communicates project status, technology direction and system health to management. Researches and evaluates new technologies coming to market and their potential application to strategies and business plans.

Selects from multiple procedures and methods to accomplish tasks. May make purchasing or resource allocation decisions within organization guidelines. Applies organizational policies. May interpret organizational policies and recommend exceptions. Establishes work methods, timetables, performance standards, etc.

- Implementation of process\procedures to improve job efficiency.
- Implementation of solution to reduce system downtime.
- Implementation of system maintenance to improve system performance and availability.

Leadership Provided
Routinely provides work group leadership, guidance, and/or training to less experienced staff. Serves as a technical resource or mentor to other employees. May lead or instruct less experienced workers in high level or technical jobs.
