We are seeking a skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science and extensive experience in managing IT infrastructure.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Building network, server, and cloud infrastructure for Fastwyre applications
- Installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting server, pc and peripheral components of the corporate network as well as the corporate domain and user account information
- Obtaining the necessary information/materials for repair as expeditiously as possible after a problem has been diagnosed. Provide purchase requests for: equipment repair, new inventory equipment, and miscellaneous IT Department supplies
- Identifying and making recommendations that will assist in the efficient resolution of reported problems/issues
- Maintaining, analyzing, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading servers, computer systems, hardware, software, computer peripherals, including operating system upgrades and applying patches
- Installing and supporting the end user applications utilized through the company
- Serving as Email Administrator being responsible for providing corporate email administration, installation, maintenance, backup, support and management of email spam filtering
- Serving as Backup Administrator being responsible for the administration, backup, restore, and off-site replication of all network components defined in the backup/disaster recovery plan.
- Serving as Network Administrator being responsible for administering the connectivity and security of the corporate network maintaining corporate domain user account information including rights, security, network groups and system groups.
- Management of antivirus and antispyware for corporate network components including staying current on the latest risks, threats, vulnerabilities and keeping the IT Manager appropriately informed.
- Maintaining adequate supporting documentation to describe procedures and processes to ensure business continuity in his/her absence
- Guiding, mentoring, motivating, training and developing team members to help them fully understand and successfully carry out expectations while keeping the team sufficiently informed of all current Company information
- Providing continual evaluation of processes and procedures and suggesting methods to improve operations, efficiency and service to both internal and external customers
- Participating in and encouraging other employees to participate in community and social events
- Understanding and strictly adhering to the Company’s Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI) policy while appropriately maintaining the confidentiality of customer records
- Understanding how all departments contribute to the success of the organization and referring customers to the appropriate department to best fulfill their needs
- Building and maintaining a good rapport and cooperative relationship with customers and co-workers while taking ownership of responsibilities and being accountable for his/her own actions
- Being an advocate for Company programs and special events while taking initiative to participate and volunteering readily when opportunities arise
- Performing all other duties and responsibilities assigned
Knowledge, Abilities, & Skills for Success
- Proficiency and 5+ years’ experience with Azure AD as well as on-premise Active Directory
- 5+ years of experience with Linux or UNIX systems and interoperability between UNIX and Windows
- Experience with cloud platforms such as ServiceNow, Netsuite, Salesforce, or similar products
- Experience with VMWare, Nutanix, Scale Computing, or similar virtualization platforms
- Experience with integration platforms that communicate between cloud and on-premise applications
- Knowledge of and the ability to comply with Company’s Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI) regulations and procedures
- Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and identity technological problems
- Ability to keep pace with the introduction of numerous and complex new products
- Knowledge of company policies, procedures, products, services, and pricing
- Motivated, organized, and detail-oriented as well as being able to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate, verbally or written, with internal and external customers with courtesy, respect, and professionalism in a nontechnical manner
- Ability to embrace change in the workplace while encouraging others to seek innovative approaches and the ability to function effectively as a team player
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule, as needed, to best serve our customers
- Working knowledge of IP routing and switching, IP multicasting, DHCP, DNS, VoIP, WiFi, networking and firewalls is a plus
Qualifications
· Bachelor of Science degree or an associate’s degree in IT or a related field, or equivalent experience
· At least 8 years’ experience in IT and network security
