Essential Functions
- Supports the mission; resident life, health, and wellness philosophy; and the code of professional conduct of Westminster Village North.
- Understands and abides by Westminster Village North's employee handbook, and other policies and procedures that apply to the department.
- In consultation with the Executive Director, sets goals and plans for Westminster Village North growth, including Master Facility Plan and Strategic Plan.
- Manage internal communications regarding all disciplines of Campus Environment.
- Ensure the safety, security, comfort, and beauty of the Westminster Village North campus.
- Attend and actively participate on the Buildings and Ground Committee and work directly with contractors until the completion of the renovation and expansion project.
- Problem solve when strategic level issues arise.
- Attend and actively participate on the Safety Committee as Co-Chair and assure the safety concerns are addressed and reported in a timely manner to the appropriate team members.
- Act as a liaison with the City of Lawrence fire Department to ensure all state requirements are met; apprise the department of any changes planned or in progress on campus.
- Establish and maintain cordial, respectful and professional relationships with the residents of Westminster Village North.
- Ensure all Transportation Clerks maintain a license in accordance with the State requirements.
- Serve as a member of the Director-level management team.
- Complete necessary forms and reports, submitting them to the administration as required.
- Manages major renovations and new construction projects.
- Attend all regularly scheduled directors, management, and staff meetings and all meetings deemed necessary by the Executive Director.
- Attend and participate in workshops and seminars to enhance skills and keep abreast of current changes in the healthcare/continuing care retirement community fields, as well as to maintain a professional status.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as directed by the Executive Director.
Management Responsibilities
- Assist in determining departmental staffing needs; interview, hire, and orientate new staff members within the department.
- Provides training, coaching, and supervision to employees.
- Administers department and organizational policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
- Completes payroll functions, as appropriate, for the department in a timely and accurate manner.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in environmental services and plant operations. Management experience is necessary.
