About the Position
As the Associate Director, Business Analysis on our Technology team, you will play a key role in transforming our business models and their supporting applications by performing analyses, documenting processes, and capturing requirements to enhance our business with a structured approach to solutions. Immediate focus areas are business process management, applications enhancements, and systems evaluations. A promising candidate will have excellent writing skills, initiative and critical thinking, and will be able to synthesize and draw conclusions from a variety of data sources. Problem-solving skills are key.
Responsibilities

Quickly acquire in-depth knowledge of the Milken Institute’s operations and existing technology stack in order to identify ways to improve internal processes and drive efficiencies.

Work with business and technology colleagues to define both functional (business user) and non-functional (technical/system) requirements for new and upgraded technology.

Independently conduct current state, process and gap analyses and assist architect in determining future state solutions that will address requirements.

Compile, document and maintain/update business cases, requirements, wire frames, user stories, use cases, project estimates, capital requests, workflow diagrams, status reports, and other related documentation.

Participate in the delivery management, testing, and training of technology programs/projects as needed.

Drive a culture of continuous improvement.

Interact with and support tech leads, support teams, and stakeholders.

Engage and influence leadership at all levels.
Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of experience as a technical business analyst

Significant experience gathering, documenting, and analyzing business requirements from internal customers and stakeholders

Significant experience working with developers and other technical staff to create design documentation, wire frames, and workflow diagrams.

Ability to work relentlessly to derive the root cause of an issue.

Knowledge of business analysis methodologies.

Knowledge and experience in Agile delivery methodologies.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail - ability to quickly analyze and resolve problems with minimal requirements and guidance.

Working Conditions & Travel Requirements
This position will work in a professional office environment. This person will also be required to travel occasionally to other offices and/or venues to assist with events as needed, requiring occasional work outside of traditional hours. Additionally, this position requires interacting virtually on a regular basis with Milken Institute staff based in other locations in the United States and around the world.

This position will work a hybrid schedule consisting of three (3) days per week reporting in-person to your respective office location (Tuesday – Thursday), with the remaining two (2) days working remotely. Please understand, this schedule is subject to change in the Institute’s sole discretion.
