Position Summary:
We are H&T Kansas, LLC, a division of H&T Recharge, located in De Soto, Kansas, searching for an experienced Controls or Automation Engineer to play a crucial role in ensuring our industrial machinery operates with optimal efficiency, reliability, and precision. You are a cornerstone of our engineering team, equipped with a diverse skill set that covers designing, developing, and testing electrical systems. Your expertise in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) programming and control systems integration is essential for implementing control algorithms and troubleshooting complex systems. By proactively managing and resolving issues, you ensure smooth and uninterrupted production processes, upholding our standards of excellence. Your Key Areas of Impact
Design and Development of Electrical Systems: You will design, develop, and test electrical systems for industrial machinery, ensuring seamless integration with control hardware and low voltage systems. This leads to enhanced machinery efficiency and reliability.
PLC Programming and Automation: You will independently design and implement PLC Ladder Logic using Siemens software, optimizing hardware and software for precise process control. By developing automation systems and tools, you will enhance efficiency, increase productivity, and reduce costs.
Technical Interpretation and Integration: You will read and interpret electrical and mechanical design documents, including P&ID drawings and specifications, ensuring accurate implementation. Your mechanical knowledge will facilitate the integration of electrical components with mechanical systems, minimizing errors.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Leveraging your excellent problem-solving skills, you will troubleshoot and maintain production equipment, identifying defects to ensure rapid issue resolution and sustained efficiency.
Customer Service and Collaboration: With a strong customer service mindset, you will provide support to internal stakeholders and foster a collaborative environment. Your ability to work independently and as part of a team will drive project success.

Standards and Documentation: You will define departmental standards, develop operational procedures for automation systems, and create comprehensive engineering documentation, leading to consistent practices and improved knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
You’ve received your bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in electrical engineering, computer science engineering, computer engineering, or related field, and you’ve spent at least five (5) years in a PLC programming position with a focus on Siemens software. You will work with a high-level of integrity, confidentiality, organization, and time management. You are proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as EPlan and AutoCAD Electrical. You are also proficient in PLC programming and integration with instrumentation, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Servo Drives, and Kuka robots.
The Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Travel
Your work is conducted in a dynamic manufacturing setting where exposure to noise and fumes is common, necessitating the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and adherence to safety protocols. You must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time, whether standing or sitting, and be able to move about inside the facility. Your work requires manual dexterity, as you will regularly use hands to operate machinery, tools, or controls, and handle or manipulate objects. The ability to hear and discern various sounds and alarms is crucial for maintaining safety and operational efficiency. You operate a computer 90% of the time. You need to be able to lift to 35 lbs. Available for domestic travel up to 25% during the initial training period of six (6) months. Occasional domestic travel of 1-2 times annually required beyond that.
