The Construction Vibration Engineer/Scientist supports research, design, construction, and maintenance projects with instrumentation to measure vibration levels and performs field testing on project sites. The Vibration Engineer/Scientist is responsible for vibration equipment (seismograph) planning and installation, troubleshooting, data collection, interpretation, and reporting. Coordinates and performs surveys of structures that will be used to create vibration thresholds for field testing. Assists in developing project scope proposals, and preparing data reports. The Vibration Engineer/Scientist prepares and installs equipment at jobsites, connects the equipment to web-based data acquisition systems, and monitors data daily. This requires working on active construction sites for both buildings and roadways. Works independently and/or with a team on larger, moderate to high complexity projects. Braun Intertec will provide safety training required for site access and safe site work.
- Preparation of proposals for moderate to complex projects.
- Coordinate and perform Pre-construction Condition Surveys of existing structures.
- Set up equipment and communications for remote operations.
- Monitor data daily and communicate data to Client as needed.
- Troubleshoot equipment as needed.
- Prepare reports for senior level review and/or eventually develop to be the senior level reviewer.
- Learn and work within the software specific to the seismograph types for each project.
- Work within established procedures and/or protocols.
- Ability to focus on assigned tasks , and effectively/efficiently manage time
- Ability to learn, understand and communicate risks associated with project recommendations to clients
- Developed understanding of Braun Intertec services and has the ability to market to clients.
- Understand and work in compliance with corporate health and safety policies.
- Complete safety training as required.
- Able to work comfortably from ladders and aerial lifts.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering, Geoscience/Geophysics Degree or similar degree required.
- 4+ years of prior construction or engineering consulting experience desired.
Valid driver’s license is required.
