Position Summary:
The Safety Manager executes the Contractor’s Safety Program and is responsible for fostering a culture of safety among program team members. The Safety Manager develops, monitors, and controls the Contractor’s Health and Safety Plans including any required Site Safety Plans. This position is expected to be forward deployed to Maui or other Hawaiian Islands. Candidate must be willing and able to deploy up to 100%. You will need to provide your own personal safety gear (reflective construction vest, Hard Hat, Steel Toed work boots) and any other gear required by the customer.
This position is contingent upon your ability to pass a background check.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include:-
Responsible for reviewing and implementing corrective actions for compliance with Contractor’s safety standards and FEMA requirements.

Maintains records of safety compliance and corrective actions.

Collaborates with program leadership and field teams to ensure a safe working environment.

Conducts safety audits of program work processes and deliverables.

Coordinates safety-related communications to program team members.

Trains/instructs program staff in applicable safety policies, procedures, and initiatives.

Investigates reports of unsafe acts, near misses, safety related incidents, and accidents; recommends appropriate actions program leadership including disciplinary actions.

Prepares safety related reports and refers safety related accidents to FEMA and other appropriate authorities.

Evaluates hazardous conditions and works with program leadership to eliminate hazards.

Reviews monthly health and safety program performance data to analyze the nature and frequency of incidents; provides input and feedback to program leadership.

Prepares and submits updates to the Safety Program based on incident/accident data, industry trends and any updated Federal safety requirements.

Manages Safety Technicians

Provide Technical Assistance to Installation Team and Managers

Create and generate Quality reports detailing inspections, status, and results as required by the Project Management team.
- Create checklists and other collateral to assist the installation team meet Quality Standards.
Skills and Competencies:
- Must have the ability to research and understand applicable OSHA and other safety standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally to staff, management, and Government officials.
- Ability to manage staff schedules which include both inspection schedules and rotation schedules.
- Ability to manage staff.
- Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS TEAMS

Ability to create PowerPoint or other Presentations.
- Ability to learn standard business software and applications for Time Keeping, etc.
Required Education and Experience:-
2-3 years’ experience serving as Safety Mager or Officer and participating in the preparation of Safe Work Plans and Job Safety Analyses for sites with similar hazards.
- Bachelors (or higher) Degree is nice to have but practical experience may be substituted for a degree.
- Degrees or Certifications in Safety, Safety Management, Health Physics, Construction Management are nice to have but not required.

OSHA 30 Construction Contractor Safety training preferred but Not required)

Experience in presentation development and training

Previous management experience is preferred
Pay: $43 - $48 per hour, dependent on experience and certifications
