Position Overview:
The Senior Field Service Technician is a pivotal role within CDK Global, responsible for providing exemplary field-based support to our customers. Operating within the East Atlanta region, this role involves installing, servicing, maintaining, and modifying equipment at customer sites. As the "Face of CDK" to our customers, Field Technicians play a crucial role in representing our brand and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and conduct on-site repairs of network products with precision and efficiency.
- Offer 24/7 support for clients and fellow Field Service Representatives (FSRs) upon request.
- Provide detailed feedback on encountered defects to the National Technical Support organization.
- Respond to and resolve assigned on-site preventative and corrective maintenance calls promptly.
- Deliver high-quality installations and upgrades of all CDK computer equipment.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of required documentation, including but not limited to Port Maps, Visio Drawings, and onsite technical analyses.
- Maintain thorough documentation of engineer activity reports, expense reports, and timesheets.
- Pursue continued education to stay abreast of new and existing equipment and technologies.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient in interacting with clients, especially in high-pressure situations, demonstrating superior client relations skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows-based operating systems and applications.
- Ability to operate test equipment effectively.
- Exceptional troubleshooting skills with the capability to isolate and resolve peripheral equipment problems.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Analytical reasoning ability to isolate problems and determine solutions.
- Ability to plan and execute projects within established deadlines.
- Flexibility to travel regionally (80-90%) with occasional overnight stays and availability for overtime and weekend installations.
Education and Certifications:
- Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- CCNA and MCDS Certifications are preferred.
