JOB DESCRIPTION
Gray Reed & McGraw currently has an immediate opening for a Financial Reporting and Analysis Manager. This individual will be a member of the Accounting and Finance Department and will report to the Controller. This position will work closely with the COO and Financial Controller to assist in the analysis of the firm’s profitability and performance, as well as budgeting and reporting.
This role will involve developing content for COO, Managing Partner, Board of Directors, and Partners, and presenting that content in an effective way. The position requires a high level of diligence, as the reporting and presentations will be serving the executive management of the company.
The right individual will have strong analytical skills and work ethics, capable of executing to deadlines and requests. Also, the person should demonstrate solid grasp and understanding of financials and tax basis reporting.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports in compliance with accounting standards, bank loan covenants and legal requirements
· Produce the firm’s annual budget and perform monthly variance analyses against actual spending
· Prepare financial slides for board and partners
· Prepare partner promotion data
· Prepare year-end law firm surveys
· Perform spend analytics in a meaningful way that considers business understanding towards actionable insights
· Perform regular predictive financial modeling, monitoring outcomes, and refining the model
· Interpret financial results into insights and recommendations for presentation to executives
· Provide financial modeling, analysis, and valuation support for scheduled and ad-hoc projects
· Identify and implement reporting of key financial metrics that enable meaningful insights and improve the visibility to company’s financial results
· Prepare profitability reports from Iridium
REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree, CPA, CFA preferred) – Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business-related degree preferred
· 8+ years of experience in Finance/Accounting for reputable firms
· 7+ years of experience in the legal industry
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, dashboards, data visualization
· Strong analytical, financial modeling and reporting skills
· Experience with Aderant Expert and BigHand Iridium
· Expertise in project management
· Experience with SSRS - SQL
· Experience with Excel – Pivot Tables, V-lookup, what-if statements
· Experience with Microsoft Office specifically Excel, Power Point and Word
· Experience with Profitability/Performance analysis/Budgeting software know how relational databases work
· Experience in budgeting for the legal industry
· Experience to train and develop others in various reporting tools
