Job Title: Physical Therapist
Department: Physical Therapy
Accountability: This position reports to the Clinic Manager
Responsibilities:
- Identifies patient’s needs by performing an initial exam, evaluate medical record and doctor’s referral and determine a diagnosis
- Communicates effectively with doctors, nurses, and case managers
- Consults with patients and develop a treatment plan
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records
- Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities; and in using supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses
- Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens; giving normal growth and development information; promoting wellness and health maintenance.
- Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy
- Physical Therapist License
- Entry level position
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours
- Must be able to apply common sense reasoning to carry out instructions
- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions in English
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
- Must possess a strong attention to detail
- Must be able to tolerate long periods of standing, squatting, kneeling, and bending
