Occupational Therapist
Job Summary and Qualifications
Plans, organizes, coordinates and administers treatments of patients referred to Occupational Therapy exercising professional judgment, knowledge and skills in managing treatment plans for the purpose of restoring physical function. Supervises the work of support personnel. Participates in planning and implementing new services and staff development programs. Prior to discharge initiate patient and family education for home exercise and care. Maintains open communication with other therapists, nurses, physicians, allied health professionals to deliver a team approach to each patient. Participates in the department continuous quality improvement and strive to excel in customer relations. Develops occupational therapy programs and market services to physicians. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as it relates to the different life cycles. Employee will be responsible for knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the neonate, infant/child, pediatric adolescent, adult and geriatric population.
What Qualifications You Will Need:
Minimum Education and Training:
· Graduate of AOTA (American Occupational Therapy Association) accredited university or college with B.S. in Occupational Therapy.
· Successful completion of approved six months clinical internship.
· Successful completion of AOTCB certification examination for Occupational Therapist Registered.
Minimum Work Experience:
· One year rehabilitation experience required
