Responsible for any warehouse-related tasks, including receiving, shipping and storing finished goods and raw materials; including the necessary labeling and inventory control tasks. Associate will train new and less experienced employees in assigned tasks. Completes the required paperwork necessary on a daily basis. Any additional duties/responsibilities assigned by supervision/management.
- Operate a forklift or other material handling device safely and correctly in order to move materials to the proper location.
- Keeps accurate records of material locations.
- Uses inventory control tools (scanners, etc.) to get information regarding material needs and necessary material movements.
- Labels and records weight as required by the packaging methods.
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs or measures items on incoming or outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
- Stages, loads/unloads and labels all shipments correctly.
- Handles shipments scheduled to be received/shipped as required.
- Document and communicate discrepancies.
- Checks all containers for condition. Corrects and reports damaged packaging.
- Assist in maintaining organization in the warehouse.
- Participating in physical inventory count as assigned.
- Follow first in/first out (FIFO) procedure.
- Other duties as assigned by supervision.
- Is aware of the significant impacts, associated impacts and the legal requirements that are inherent with acquired duties.
