Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Support Specialist to provide essential care and assistance to individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving, home care, and social work, with a focus on supporting individuals with autism and assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs).
Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals with autism in their home and community settings
- Provide support with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as grooming, dressing, and hygiene
- Offer companionship and emotional support to individuals
- Prepare meals according to dietary requirements and restrictions
- Perform heavy lifting tasks as needed
- Implement care plans tailored to individual needs
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Requirements:
- Experience in caregiving, home care, or social work preferred
- Proficiency in assisting individuals with autism and understanding their unique needs
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks when required
- Strong interpersonal skills and empathy towards those in need of care
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality
- Willingness to undergo any necessary training or certifications
