MOTI operates out of a beautiful and functional facility in the heart of the Los Feliz neighborhood in Los Angeles.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: MOTI is currently searching for full time and part time Physical Therapy Aides ("PT Aide") to join our new and growing practice. The PT Aide will work closely with our team of highly competent Doctors of Physical Therapy to ensure that each client understands and performs the prescribed physical therapy regimens, so they can achieve the results they desire. The primary responsibilities of the PT Aide include:
- Administers physical therapy per physician orders after the initial evaluation has been written by a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy. These attitudes and activities include; a) Demonstrates genuine concern for patient's condition and goals and employs quality communication, explanation, and motivation techniques to ensure patient performs the treatment activities correctly in the clinic, and when directed to do so in their home, b) Notes diagnosis of patient and takes all precautions for observing indications and contraindications, c) Applies physical agents as ordered and oversees the therapeutic exercise programs and instructs ambulatory procedures, as indicated, d) Explains what patients should feel and precautions to be taken, e) Consults closely with Doctor of Physical Therapy regarding any therapy and patient condition
- Under the direction of the Doctor of Physical Therapy, maintains appropriate records pertinent to patient treatments. These records include: a) Initial notes, b) Treatment plan, c) Patient education, e) Periodic Assessment Summary, f) Discharge Summary
- Complies with safety and infection control protocols and procedures
- Participates in maintaining order and cleanliness of equipment and facility
- Pro-actively engages with other MOTI team members to improve the operation of MOTI and the results achieved by MOTI clients
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS: The first qualification for a MOTI PT Aide is to possess a genuine desire to help MOTI clients and be committed to ensuring they accomplish their desired physical performance goals. Additionally, the PT Aide must be welcoming of coaching and direction from the MOTI Doctors of Physical Therapy. The best candidates will have the following qualifications:
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology and the effect of treatment procedures on the body function and structure. This understanding typically gained through formal education and/or experience.
- Familiarity and experience with various physical therapy exercises and the use of related equipment
- Knowledge of infection control procedures and safety procedures in a clinic and exercise facility
- Trained in CPR and in possession of a current CPR card
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records, and medical billing procedures
- Well-developed English language, and non-verbal, communication skills. Fluency in additional languages beneficial.
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn the scheduling, EMR and other systems employed by MOTI
- Physically fit and capable to work with clients in the performance of their physical therapy exercises
The best PT Aides are frequently the ones who aspire to attend physical therapy school and become a Doctor of Physical Therapy. MOTI's Doctors of Physical Therapy work closely with the PT Aides to ensure they understand the how, what and why of the therapeutic exercises prescribed for patients. Many of MOTI's PT Aides have gone on to enter physical therapy schools and we strive to assist them in this process.

Pay: From $17.28 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 25 per week
