As a Veterinary Surgery Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our veterinary surgeons and medical team in providing top-notch surgical care to our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting veterinary surgeons during consultation appointments.
- Assisting with safe patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Preparing surgical instruments, equipment, and operating rooms for procedures.
- Monitoring and maintaining the cleanliness and sterility of the surgical environment.
- Providing care and comfort to pre- and post-operative patients.
- Collaborating with the medical team to ensure the highest quality patient care.
- Educating pet owners about post-operative care and medications.
- Assisting in the management of medical records and documentation.
- Contributing to the overall positive and collaborative work environment.
- Perform quality control and operate of autoclave, gas sterilizer, and other cleaning/sterilization equipment
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a veterinary or other health care setting is required.
- Passion for animal care and well-being.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Compassionate and empathetic nature towards animals and their owners.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and procedures.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
