Audio/Visual Technician
The role of Worship Audio/Visual Technician is to take the lead in overseeing the sound in-house and livestream and audio-visual worship needs of the Church; including leadership of volunteer technical teams for Sunday Morning Services and other worship events needing production and tech support. The right candidate has sufficient technical abilities to help advance our live-stream ministry.
Responsibilities
· Set up stage for musicians and perform sound checks for proper volume settings, mixing and gain settings. (or with musicians depending on the situation and potential need to collaborate.
· Perform proper line check
· Perform proper sound check; includes gain settings, monitor mixes, proper volume settings, and the EQ/mixing process.
· Oversee all technical aspects of in-house sound and live streaming sound. Supporting Sunday morning worship is the number one priority of this position.
· Attend rehearsals as needed.
· Lead our tech team by training, assisting, scheduling and coordinating tech volunteers.
· Build a community of tech volunteers.
· Coordinate and work with worship leaders, musicians and Pastor to ensure appropriate level of sound support.
- Assist volunteers in mastering AV technology, empowering and equipping our PMBC team to use technology in discipleship and ministry.
- Coordinate volunteers and assist with special services such as funerals.
Qualifications
· Ideal qualifying background would include a minimum experience of 2 years or completion of a certificate program/degree from an accredited technical institute or university.
· Proficiency operating the Behringer X32 Sound Board.
· Working knowledge of video, live stream, social media technology, lighting, and video production systems in a live worship setting.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous team-oriented volunteer experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to think quickly and react/troubleshoot appropriately in high-stress situations
Additional Qualifications
· Experience as a live sound engineer in an African-American church setting is desirable
Schedule:
- Sunday mornings
- Rehearsals as needed
- Occasional Special Church Worship Events
