Responsibilities
As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to ensure efficient operation of our rapidly growing practice. You will support providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.
We are interested in both more administratively and more clinically skilled Medical Assistants. Responsibilities include:
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Update and file medical records and insurance reports
- Arrange referrals, hospital admissions, laboratory and imaging services
- Check with patients and keep patients charts up to date
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Assist during clinical examinations
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
- Handle receivable and payable accounts and keep financial records
- (Assisting with) home visits
Skills
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software
- Medical Assistant degree
- Ability to work independently and effectively, both remotely and on-site
- Flexibility to adjust to changes in the nature of the work due to both the growth of the organization and the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic
For clinically oriented Medical Assistants, access to transportation is essential, strong phlebotomy skills are highly preferred.'
