Job Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Demonstrates adequate understanding of operative procedures
- Admits patients to preop area, assesses patient and prepares patient for surgery
- Assesses and documents patient status, carries out treatments, and makes postoperative telephone calls
- Accepts full responsibility for all nursing care needed by assigned patients including treatments, IV starts, monitoring vital signs and patient teaching
- Documents complete information in nursing records reflecting nursing assignment, care given, effectiveness of care and continued planning of care
- Adheres to standards of practice regarding use of hazardous substances
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with the patient and family, peers and all members of the health care team
Experience:
- Must have a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Must be CPR Certified and ideally, ACLS certified
