Summary:
Bay Street Animal Hospital is a newly renovated, state-of-the-art, 24/7, 9,000-square-foot facility that includes a well-equipped in-house laboratory, dental and surgical suites, a luxury pet hotel, and grooming facility.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Possess in depth knowledge and understanding of veterinary medical concepts
- Always provide compassionate and quality customer service and patient care
- Proficient in various technical nursing skills, including, but not limited to, venipuncture, catheter placement, intubation, anesthesia monitoring, diagnostic imaging, critical care, pharmacology, and dentistry
- Proficient in animal handling and restraint for various medical procedures
- Triage emergencies and assess patient stability quickly and efficiently
- Obtain subjective and objective patient information during scheduled appointments and emergencies
- Keep patient electronic medical records updated
- Competently relay information to clients when instructed to by attending Veterinarian
- Monitor in-house patients and document and communicate patient concerns or observed changes to Veterinarian
- Medicate and complete patient treatments following veterinarian and LVT instructions
- Collaborate professionally with managers and team members
- Possess thorough knowledge of hospital daily procedures and protocols
- Work efficiently and calmly under challenging conditions
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions
- Clean and disinfect kennels, equipment, and facility while utilizing appropriate PPE and following cleaning protocols
- Assist in keeping supplies stocked by noting when supplies are running low in all departments.
- Make certain entire hospital including treatment, surgery, exam rooms and kennels are kept extremely clean through the day.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of veterinary hospital protocols and procedures
- Must possess excellent patient care and customer service skills
- Able to lift patients up to 40 pounds.
- Able to work standing for 8 or more hours
- Outstanding inter-personal communication and the ability to work in a team environment or independently
- Ability to track and adapt to frequent changes in protocols and procedures
- High degree of integrity, accountability and flexibility
- Able to effectively manage multiple priorities and adapt to change within a fast-paced business environment
- Basic to advanced computer skills
- Licensed Veterinary Technician Preferred - American Association of Veterinary State Boards

Veterinary practice experience (Required)
High School Diploma/GED (Required)
Associates: Veterinary Technician (Preferred)
