JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Detailer/Shop Floor Housekeeping
DEPARTMENT: Finish
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: This position report to the Test Manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prior to the delivery of equipment to the customer, GapVax washes and cleans the exterior and interior of vacuum trucks and related equipment. The Detailer will complete the final cleaning and delivery preparation for new and serviced equipment including washing, removing assembly debris, cleaning, waxing and vacuuming the vehicle prior to delivery. When not engaged in detailing activities, the Detailer will perform general shop housekeeping and other duties as directed. Duties will be performed in a safe and efficient manner including the use of fall protection and personal protective equipment.
Detailing
- Washes, cleans and refurbishes the exterior and interior of new and used equipment
- Apply wax to auto body, wipes and/or buffs surfaces to protect and preserve shine
- Vacuum interior of vehicle, removing debris left over from assembly
- Clean upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces, using cleaning agents and equipment
- Steam cleans and degreases equipment as required
- Steam cleans and degreases raw steel tanks and parts in preparation for paint
- Operates pressure washer, steam cleaner and other types of cleaning equipment and tools associated with the job
- Reports defects to supervisor
Shop Floor Housekeeping
- After production hours, sweeps and removes heavy debris from work cell areas
- Operates the riding shop sweeper to remove dust and dirt from shop floor
- Removes crates, pallets and cardboard boxes from warehouse and production areas
- Performs any necessary cleaning and housekeeping in warehouse and production areas including dusting shelves
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.High school diploma or GED
2.Must have experience cleaning and refurbishing vehicles and/or commercial equipment
3.Must have experience working with basic hand tools
4.Must have high standards of quality and pride in work
5.Must be able to work effectively independently and with others
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1.Ability to use standard handtools and powertools

3.Use ladder/scaffold and work from moderate heights
4.Ability to interact in a positive manner with customers, vendors, and plant personnel.

Pay: $16.04 - $22.00 per hour
