Due to an internal promotion, the City of Wood Dale is seeking applicants for the position of Deputy City Clerk. This position is responsible for assisting the City Clerk as keeper of the official records for the City of Wood Dale. This position also performs routine clerical duties in order to accomplish daily tasks and has extensive contact with the public.
The Deputy City Clerk assists in the maintenance of ordinances, resolutions, and other business pertinent to the City; processes City records with the County, State, and other related entities; and serves as a notary public. This position publishes legal notices for public meetings in a newspaper of general circulation and posts notices for public meetings onsite, per the Open Meetings Act. This position also processes Freedom of Information Act requests, liquor license applications and renewals, local elections, property liens, solicitor licenses, various permits, and other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a busy office environment. Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written), proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to operate office equipment are essential. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City officials, employees, and the public is required.
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of 2-5 years of related administrative experience. Knowledge of administrative and procedural policies and regulations of municipal government is required.
The salary for the Deputy City Clerk will be based on qualifications and work experience. The salary range for this position is $63,741 - 90,487. Benefits include Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund; paid vacation and sick leave accrual; medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
