Here we grow again! Raise the Bar Therapy Services is looking for another special candidate to join our successful and growing team of 12 OTRs and COTAs! At RTB we provide holistic healthcare with multi-disciplinary services and we are actively seeking a Pediatric OTR and COTA, to help us heal our community! At RTB we have a state of the art pediatric gym and multi-sensory environment and focus on a variety of areas including feeding, cognition, handwriting without tears, and emotional regulation. The Pediatric OTR will provide standardized testing and treatment for pediatrics in our surrounding daycare and preschool programs, and in our Hampstead clinic as needed, achieving goals that will optimize the child's function and quality of life, while keeping in touch and educating the parents/caregivers. The COTA will follow the plan of care to carry out the treatments and communicate directly with the OTR. All of our therapists utilize a multi-disciplinary approach and work hand-in-hand with PT and Speech to help both the patients and the families that have been diagnosed with physical, developmental, and emotional regulatory disabilities. The successful candidate must have an interest in the holistic healing approach and display the ability to learn how to assess and treat using the mind/body/spirit perspective. Responsibilities
- Meets the patient’s goals and needs by raising the bar with quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results; determining occupational therapy treatment plans with physician's prescription.
- Helps patient develop or regain physical or mental functioning or adjust to disabilities by implementing programs involving manual arts and crafts, practice activities of daily living, and sensory motor, educational, recreational and social activities.
- Promotes maximum independence by selecting and constructing therapies according to individual’s physical capacity, intelligence level and interest.
- Evaluates results of occupational therapy by observing, noting and evaluating patient’s progress; recommending and implementing adjustments and modifications.
- Assures continuation of therapeutic plan following case being closed by designing and instructing patients, families and caregivers in home exercise programs.
- Recommends and/or providing consult for adaptive equipment, splints.
- Documents patient care services by charting in EMR records.
- Maintains confidential compliance.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending education workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal/professional networks; participating in professional societies.
- Complies with federal, state and local legal and certification requirements by studying existing and new legislation.
SKILLS:
- Proven working experience as occupational therapist or OTA in pediatrics
- Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of occupational therapy as it relates to pediatric clientele with standardized testing
- Hands-on experience with computer programs and creative media
- Familiarity with Pediatric Evaluation and Treatment tools
- Current knowledge of treatment practices per discipline and drive to continually learn and grow in the profession
- Professional behavior, loyalty and commitment
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, team player
- Valid license to practice occupational therapy in the state of NC
- BS degree or greater in occupational therapy or associates for the OTA
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $28.00 - $48.00 per hour
Expected hours: 28 – 40 per week
