Role: Creo Designer
Client: DOD-Aerospace

Duration: 6-month contract
Hourly Rate: $65/hr (W2, non-benefited)

Position Description:
The Senior Designer supports program initiatives by creating innovative and practical mechanical and electro-mechanical concepts and designs for components, assemblies, tools, and products of varying complexity. This role involves close collaboration with engineering, vendors, manufacturing, quality assurance, and customers to develop and refine design specifications.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement designs free of layout process defects.

Assist engineers in defining design standards and configurations.

Utilize Computer Aided Design (CAD) methodologies, theories, and techniques.

Review completed engineering documents to ensure compliance with engineering and military standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensions.

Provide expert technical consultation to both the division and the customer community, leveraging in-depth design knowledge.

Create highly innovative concepts that meet functional and operational requirements for existing product lines and new product development programs.

Ensure CAD models transition smoothly to modeling and simulation software.

Prepare complex design layouts, schematics, or sketches, including test plans, procedures, and specifications to meet system and integration requirements within cost and producibility constraints.

Prepare drawing packages according to military or equivalent ASME standards.

Verify completed layouts, drawings, test plans, test reports, procedures, and change history documentation (e.g., engineering change notices) for clarity, completeness, and compliance with standards.

Coordinate closely with systems engineers to ensure designs meet contractual requirements.

Evaluate completed drawings, specifications, and procedures for producibility, viability, appropriateness of tolerances, fits, finishes, materials, and validate the integration of equipment.
Required Skills & Experience:

Proficiency with Creo 7 required.

Minimum 9 years of design/drafting experience using Pro-E/Creo CAD system.

Proficient in tolerance analysis and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Proficient in the use of applicable CAD equipment and drafting techniques, including 3D modeling and file manipulation.

Comprehensive knowledge of military drawings and specifications, and applicable MILSPEC/STD's.

Comprehensive product line knowledge at the component, subsystem, and system levels.

Comprehensive knowledge of production methods and understanding of human factors.

Knowledge of Model-Based Definition (MBD) is a plus.
