DAS is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to become an integral part of our team conducting innovative software development on projects supporting various Naval Combat Training Systems for our customer at the Naval Surface Warfare Center. Projects entail execution of scientific, engineering and technical services required for the design, development, integration, test, fleet implementation and maintenance of training simulation systems. This position offers the opportunity to support the network infrastructure, services, and systems associated with software development efforts for leading edge Navy Combat System Training Systems.
Responsibilities:
- Provide cyber security engineering services for classified and unclassified networks of computer systems running primarily Linux Operating Systems in support of development networks.
- Assess system vulnerabilities, implement risk mitigation strategies, validate secure systems, and test security products and systems to detect security weakness.
- Execute and improve processes and procedures to maintain DoD-defined IA security posture on systems.
- Assist in the creation of technical documentation in support of systems.
- Provide IT support for developers.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology/Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical degree and 8+ years related experience in positions of increasing responsibility; or a comparable Master's Degree and 6+ years of experience
- Must be a US Citizen (without dual citizenship) for clearance regulations. Please do not apply if you do not have US Citizenship.
- Active or Inactive US DoD Security Clearance of Secret or higher
- Possess certifications: DoD 8570/8140 IAT level II or III approved baseline certifications.
- Demonstrable expertise in the Linux operating system and CLI
- Demonstrated significant experience in Linux Systems Administration, including expertise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, or Rocky, particularly from an information assurance and remediation perspective.
- Familiar with enterprise network architectures
- Experience with automated configuration management and server provisioning via tools such as Ansible
- Experience with automated network and system monitoring via tools such as ELK and Nessus
- Experience with Virtualization Technologies, specifically KVM and LXD
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with deploying and maintaining DoD Information Assurance Programs, such as DoD 8570 and DoD 5520. NIST 800-171, and NIST 800-53
- Experience managing GitLab, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Nexus, postfix, Horde, etc.
- Experience with scripting/programming skills for automation in Bash and Python
- Experience managing and maintaining Linux repositories

- The salary range provided spans multiple levels of experience.
- Salaries offered are commensurate to candidate's level and breadth of experience as it applies to the role they would fill.

- Successful candidate will primarily work from our facilities in McLean, VA.
- There may be occasions when employees will temporarily work on-site at the NSWC facility in Carderock, MD.

Pay: $140,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
