Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting veterinarians in examinations and procedures, administering medications, performing laboratory tests, and providing general animal care. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal welfare and possess excellent technical skills. Responsibilities: - Assist veterinarians in examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures - Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian - Perform laboratory tests such as bloodwork, urinalysis, and fecal examinations - Prepare animals for surgery, including pre-operative bloodwork and monitoring anesthesia - Monitor vital signs of animals during procedures and recovery - Provide general animal care including feeding, grooming, and exercise - Maintain accurate medical records for all patients - Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration - Assist with X-rays and other diagnostic imaging procedures - Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the veterinary clinic Qualifications: - Certified Veterinary Technician or equivalent experience required - Strong knowledge of animal care practices and veterinary medicine - Proficient in performing laboratory tests and interpreting results - Experience with aseptic technique and surgical assistance preferred - Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate pet owners effectively - Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately - Knowledge of animal husbandry practices for various species including dogs, cats, and exotics - Familiarity with dog training techniques is a plus - Proficient in using veterinary software for medical record keeping We offer competitive pay based on experience.
