Job Summary:
We are a thriving Pediatrics practice located in MetroWest Boston, seeking a part-time HR Generalist to complement our management team.
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing professional HR-related duties and works closely with other organizational leadership in supporting the human resources needs of all departments within the healthcare practice. The HR Generalist demonstrates a solid commitment to the health center’s mission, vision, and core values by working cooperatively and effectively with all levels of the organization while maintaining the utmost standards of professional behavior. The HR Generalist must recognize the talent that will add value to the facility and maintain a sensitive, fair, and impartial approach to dealing with employees.
This position will be a 0.50 FTE with flexible/mother’s hours.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Administers and manages employee benefits and leave programs (Disability, FMLA, LOA) and coordinates with payroll manager and outside benefits vendors.
2. Assists in developing and implementing various human resource plans, personnel policies, and procedures for all organization personnel.
3. Partners with employees and management to communicate various HR policies, procedures, laws, standards, and other government regulations.
4. Monitors employee eligibility for benefit plans. Reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation, or changes. Organizes and manages annual open enrollment communications and election process.
5. Works with physician managing partners and accounting firm in administering the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises it as necessary.
6. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
7. Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
8. Responds to employee relation issues and manage and track all employee disciplinary action.
9. Advises management in appropriately resolving employee relations issues and/or escalating matters to senior management.
10. Coaches, counsels, and guides managers before executing employee disciplinary actions.
11. Assists in planning New Hire Orientation and manages New Hire Onboarding.
12. Reports, maintains, and monitors all workers’ compensation case files; follows up on open cases.
13. Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
14. Conducts employee terminations, exit interviews, and handles unemployment process.
15. Reviews applications and interviews applicants to match experience with specific job-related requirements on an as-needed basis in support of the practice manager.
16. Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources administration.
17. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, immigration legislation, and affirmative action goals.
18. Perform other duties as required.
Required Skills & Competencies:
Experience: 3-5 years of HR generalist experience; experience in a Healthcare environment is a plus

3. Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-faced environment.
4. Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws about Human Resources Administration.

Software/Hardware: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Skills & Competencies:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or related field preferred
Certification/Licensure: Professional certification in Human Resources (PHR, SHRM-CP) is strongly preferred
