PITCO Foods is a large independent foodservice distributor in Northern California. Based in San Jose, CA, PITCO also has distribution centers in Brisbane, Oakland, and Sacramento.
Position Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist III will be responsible for providing support to the Human Resources department at Pitco Foods. The role will focus on benefits administration and worker’s compensation. This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department and will work closely with the Division manager, Directors, other Executives, and other department heads. With around 400 employees, the HR Generalist III will be responsible for ensuring that the Human Resources department is able to effectively support and manage the needs of the organization.
Job Responsibilities:
Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, 401(k), PTO, and other company-sponsored plans, and serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Conduct benefits orientations and information sessions for new hires and existing employees.
- Maintain accurate and complete benefits-related records and documentation.
- Oversee the administration of COBRA, FMLA, and other leave programs.
- Analyze workers' compensation data to identify trends and recommend improvements to safety and claims management practices.
- Collaborate with medical providers, insurers, and legal professionals to manage claims and ensure timely resolution.
- Ensures the company and the four warehouses are following policy and provides guidance and counseling as necessary.
- Maintains accurate and complete employee files and other relation information for exempt and non-exempt employees
- Participate in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with the full cycle-recruiting and onboarding as needed.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field. This includes General/Business Management, Psychology, Organizational Development.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to HR.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft 360, and G-Suite.
- Experience in wholesale and distribution is a plus.
