Under general direction and federal oversight, the Department of Energy (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Defense Programs (DP), National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) has need of a full time, contractor-staffed, Knowledge Management Analyst to support the Office of Stockpile Management (NA 12) Business Processes Team. This is an analyst role in support of the NA-12 Leadership Principal Assistant Deputy Administrator (PADA) and Deputy Principal Assistant Deputy Administrator (DPADA) and other Federal staff as assigned.
This position is located at NNSA-ABQ/Kirtland Air Force Base and will provide direct support to the Business Process Team (BPT) Lead, Albuquerque Records Manager and collaborate with NA-12 BPT staff located at NNSA-HQ/FORS Washington DC. The Knowledge Management Analyst (KMA) should have demonstrated knowledge management (KM) experience.
The KMA will perform a wide variety of activities including, but not limited to:
- Analyze operations to inform the design of knowledge management practices to maintain
institutional knowledge.
- Develop and implement KM plans and policies to capture and preserve knowledge;
- Establish knowledge management tools that are user friendly and maintain key information; and • Provide records management and archival support to preserve legacy research and production documents.
The KMA will provide key support to the BPT Lead, Records Manager and members of the BPT Team with liaison efforts, managing interfaces, and coordinating day-to-day information system and records activities among other Defense Program (DP) Offices, Department of Defense, or Design and Production Agencies as well as the Office and Human Capital & Business Operations.
This is a full-time, on-site position located in the Albuquerque NNSA office.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Active DoD TS and/or DOE Q clearances highly desired
- DoD S or DOE L clearance individuals are also encouraged to apply.
- Bachelor’s degree in History, Business, Knowledge Management, Records, Management, or related field, and at least 2-6 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Experience with MS SharePoint, MS TEAMS, and managing document libraries.
- Ability to research solutions, solve problems, and instruct users on best practices for supported tools. • Ability to translate highly technical matters to non-technical audience.
- Effectively interact with a broad range of Federal and military staff and senior leadership.
- Excellent communication skills.
Key Attributes and Roles/Responsibilities
- Plan and ensure proper retention of all documents, files, presentations, and materials in accordance with knowledge management practices.
- Develop, document, and maintain training and knowledge transfer procedures that meet requirements and adhere to defined policies.
- Plan and work with IT to implement a knowledge tool/portal with an issue management capability.
- Create KM practices for document control, consistent naming conventions and file planning.
- Work with IT to improve automation of records management.
- Improve KM processes using feedback from the voice of the customer in adherence with industry standards. • Develop, maintain and administer KM plans, standard operating procedure/desk procedures, and training for NA-12/ NA-10.
- Provide weekly KM performance reports including accomplishments and challenges.
- Support business process team activities as necessary.
