Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers in patient examinations and procedures
- Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens for testing
- Prepare patients for X-rays and assist with imaging procedures
- Provide medical administrative support such as scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and handling billing and coding tasks
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment
- Provide patient education on procedures, medications, and general health information
- Assist with basic life support measures in emergency situations
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a medical assistant program preferred
- Certification as a medical assistant is a plus
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding practices
- Experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting is preferred
- Proficiency in performing vital signs and basic medical procedures
- Ability to accurately administer medications under the direction of healthcare providers
- Excellent communication skills and ability to provide compassionate patient service
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
