We are seeking a dedicated, confident and capable individual to join our team as a Dental Receptionist/Scheduling Coordinator. 1 year of dental office experience and understanding of basic dental terminology required for treatment planning and dental insurance purposes.
Main responsibilities and duties include, but not limited to:
1. Assists patients calling, texting, emailing or visiting the clinic
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional, friendly manner
- Aids patients and others (e.g., vendors, suppliers) contacting the clinic; may provide direct assistance or take messages and direct calls to appropriate party
- Completes initial patient registration information, scans insurance cards and uploads information to patient electronic dental record (EDR)
- Performs eligibility and verification checks for patients' insurance coverage
- Updates any changes to patient information in EDR
- Schedules patient appointments via phone, text, email, and in person. Manages appointments as needed for rescheduling
- Identifies no shows and cancellations and reschedules patients as deemed appropriate. Charges for no show fees when appropriate
- Schedules appointments with specialists for patients needing treatment in referring offices
- Helps manage the provider schedules to provide optimum efficiency
- Transfers x-rays and/or records requested by other dental offices. Uploads and saves records transferred from other dental and medical offices.
- Be the first to arrive and last to leave, i.e., responsible for opening and closing the office
2. Responsible for verifying dental coverage and authorizations for treatment/services
- Generates estimates for dental treatment and makes financial arrangements
- Documents notes in EDR regarding collections, payment arrangements, failed appointments, or additional conversations
- Processes cash, checks and credit card payments, ensuring full collection of insurance co-payments and private payments
- Assist in filing insurance claims and tracking their progress. Updating information and sending in requested documentation to ensure timely filing and payment of claims
- Assist in preparing billing statements
3. Provide administrative support to the clinic
- Checks with providers for completion of notes, scan any documents and correspondence into patient charts
- Opens mail and routes to applicable party
- Maintains office supply inventory, orders supplies
- Manages and organized reception area including performing basic cleaning duties
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
