THE ENGINEERING DIRECTIVE
- Share the directive and follow with engineers.
- Work according to the engineering process and tools. Enforce adherence to processes.
- Make designs according to the drawing manual and sustainability guidelines.
- Map competence and conduct PDD with engineers.
- Train and be trained.
- Report a dotted line to the regional engineering manager.
- Involve regional engineering manager in hiring and firing.
- Follow ISO 9001 and 14001 Policies and Procedures.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises and leads tasks, assigns projects to engineers/designers.
- Establishes organization within the department.
- Strong prioritization as part of daily duties.
- Coordinates with quality department about issues and assists in 8D Methodology in response to non-conformances.
- Training of new engineers/designers. Onboarding and capabilities development. Manages employees’ career paths.
- Makes reports to management and associated departments.
- Validates technical work received from NEC’s, MU’s and SU’s.
- Works together with colleagues of NEC’s, MU’s and SU’s.
- Attends technical trainings when necessary and assigns training to employees.
- Develops the competence within the team. Definition of competences needed to satisfy customers.
- Improves and / or propose new working procedures within his / her team.
- Link to other NEC’s and HQ regarding engineering subjects.
- Support NEC (Nefab Engineering Center) by being able provide constructive feedback regarding software used and support systems.
- Manages engineering department. This includes packaging engineers/designers plus dotted line technical/sales personnel that reports directly to other departments.
- Makes fast and accurate decisions in a very fast paced and demanding environment.
- Plans and executes the strategic activities.
- Final responsibility for organizing all engineering and test activities.
- Responsible for billing of engineering hours and utilization rate.
- Responsible as gatekeeper for projects, developments, and similar.
- Adding value to the NEC by introducing innovative products, new design options for solutions.
- Authorizes purchasing within the scope of engineering.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (University or HBO)
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar function. Industrial packaging preferred.
- Project management skills.
LANGUAGES
- Native Language
- English (Fluent - mandatory)
- Spanish/Mandarin are a plus
SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
- Precision, accountability, customer focus, leadership, flexibility, judgment, maturity.
- People skills required to be successful in a fast / high demanding multi departmental environment.
- People management, CAD experience (IronCAD, SolidWorks or Solid edge, etc.)
