Full time direct hire opportunities with a well-established and growing manufacturing company's East Houston location.
Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Techs will be responsible for performing electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs on facility equipment, machinery, and property structures, etc.
Shift: 3 shifts
Pay: up to $30/hr
Required Knowledge/Education:
- High school education. A 2-year associate degree program at a community or technical college is desired.
- Vocational school courses in mathematics, geometry, blueprint reading, mechanical drawing, metalworking, drafting, and quality and safety practices are highly recommended.
- 5 – 7 years of related industrial experience.
Skills Needed:
- Thorough knowledge of hydraulic and fluid systems, advanced electrical circuitry, and PLC control systems.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
- Ability to use common hand and power tools, specialized measuring equipment, and electronic testing devices.
Typical Duties Include:
- Repairing, performing preventive maintenance, and installing new machinery.
- Repairing and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, computer-controlled systems, and production machines.
- Adjusting and calibrating automated manufacturing equipment.
- Conducting inspections, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, and keeping maintenance records.
- Troubleshooting/diagnosing problems and determining solutions.
- Setting up and operating plant production equipment as needed for maintenance tasks.
- Performing routine preventive maintenance to ensure smooth and efficient machine operation.
- Cleaning, lubricating machinery, performing diagnostic tests, and testing damaged machine parts.
- Adhering to safety rules and regulations and participating in safety efforts.
- Obtaining supplies and repair parts from distributors or storerooms.
- Designing circuit diagrams and creating specifications & instructions for users.
- Analyzing jobs and diagrams to locate or install circuits and equipment.
- Planning and performing work requiring a thorough knowledge of electronic and electrical principles.
- Tracing and testing circuits and equipment for faulty operation.
- Performing work requiring a working knowledge of electrical principles and equipment operation.
- Dismantling, inspecting, repairing, adjusting, and replacing faulty parts or wiring.
- Installing conduit, fittings, switches, controls, and fixtures.
- Ensuring work conforms to existing codes as instructed.
- Performing other miscellaneous related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
