We are seeking an engaging, motivated individual as Store Manager who can help promote our sports & fitness business. Delivering outstanding customer service and leadership is our priority. The Store Manager position is an essential part of the store leadership team, & central to the overall customer & team member experience. In this position, the individual will lead in various aspects of the business, including but not limited to buying, pricing, training & scheduling staff, sales, & merchandising sports gear, helping to drive a vibrant community & sports-oriented culture.
Our primary winter sports are ice hockey, ski & snowboard, but we also sell baseball, lacrosse, bicycles, fitness, golf, soccer, football, racquet, inline, & water sports.
Our niche is that we carry both new and used as well as sports gear rentals & shop services. Play It Again Sports is the neighborhood sporting goods store for your entire family. We have a dynamic environment & are always looking to improve on what we do.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Our ideal candidate will:
- Promote & enhance our store culture as a fun, positive, & productive work environment.
- Hire, train and schedule staff to obtain the best customer satisfaction.
- Have extensive knowledge in many sport categories.
- Buy used sports product, engaging & promoting customers' purchases & sales to the store. Highlight image of the store concept.
- Manage product presentation tasks, i.e., price/tag items based on pricing & buying guidelines; restock floor merchandise; maintain store displays; & follow store housekeeping & maintenance standards & procedures.
- Develop proficiency in operating computerized Point of Sale (POS) & sales tracking system for all sales, buys, returns, etc.
- Achieve personal & store sales goals by applying sound customer service.
- Familiarize/Maintain an awareness of all product knowledge, & current or upcoming product, to suit customers' needs.
- Support & work to develop/educate each sales team member to their fullest potential.
- Open and/or close the store in accordance with the opening & closing checklists.
- Be responsible & initiate completion of tasks or activities without necessary supervision.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 2 years prior retail experience with proven customer service & leadership skills needed; prior knowledge in similar product lines a plus, but willing to training the right candidate.
- At least 1 year of management experience.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required; completion of post-secondary ed will be considered an asset.
- Flexibility to work retail store hours, including nights, weekends, & holidays when needed.
- Willing & able to lift up to 50 lbs. & be on your feet for a shift, up to 8 hours at a time with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Strong verbal & written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills and social media knowledge.

Pay: Base Pay of 40k to 50k plus Monthly and Yearly Bonuses
