Nurse Manager
SUMMARY:
Encourages and leads a team environment where all staff works to provide the best patient experience possible. Maintains all Federal, State and County guidelines and regulations while overseeing staff compliance both clinically and administratively for both Surgery Center of Viera and Millennium Medical Management. Provides assistance to Physicians in delivering healthcare. Ensures appropriate nursing direction and staffing needs are met for all patients in accordance with recognized standards of practice. Provides new hire and continuous education and serves as a mentor to Clinical and Support Staff. Oversee inventory control and supply ordering. Communicates effectively with all staff and management and demonstrates positive problem solving skills. Promotes the mission, vision and values of the organization.
SALARY NEGOTIABLE
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Reports to Director of Medicine as providing leadership and training for Clinical and Support Staff in accordance with recognized standards of practice.
- Complies and maintains current HIPAA , OSHA, AAAHC, AHCA, Medicare, Patient Safety and Risk Management guidelines to ensure the safety and privacy of the patients and other employees. Maintains State and Federal guidelines and compliance. Ensures that all staff are compliant with these guidelines.
- Assists physicians with procedures and clinical help as needed.
- Determines patient care needs and directs staff accordingly in accordance with recognized standards of practice; coordinates personnel assignments with department leads.
- Ensures Clinical and Support Staff make all patients, visitors and callers feel welcome through warm, genuine greeting and attentiveness to his or her needs
- Maintains open communication with Physicians, Management, and Staff on issues or concerns along with policy and procedural updates
- Promotes a team environment and cultivates a positive environment with all Clinical, Patient Services and Billing Staff that represents the best of Millennium Medical Management and Surgery Center of Viera
- Monitors and trains as needed: Sterile Processing, Pre-Op, PACU, OR Circulation and Scrub Tech
- Maintains a system to mentor and educate clinical and non-clinical staff to include new hires and existing staff along with maintaining proper documentation of same
- Maintains process improvements and supervises patient care
- Routinely reviews patient chart for accuracy and proper documentation
- Maintains staffing schedules for all Clinic Office Staff, work with Clinic Leads, monitor employee time and attendance, including the management of time off requests
- Monitors and assists with schedule changes according to physician needs
- Oversees clinical supply ordering and inventory to ensure adequate stock; routinely price check clinical supplies to verify current contract pricing, review clinical equipment and billing invoices for payment, verifies accuracy of delivery and to pay amounts
- Drafts routine correspondence
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Florida Registered Nurse licensure
CPHRM-Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (or obtain license/certification within 90 days of employment)
ACLS/BLS
3 years hands on experience in ASC setting.
SKILLS:
Experience in nursing management, hands on pre-op, peri-op, post-op clinical nursing.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to patients and other employees of the organization.
Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Basic computer skills, such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
Must be able to use a fax machine, copier and multi-line telephone system.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must have current active clear Florida Registered Nurse license.
Must maintain the renewals for such licensure and complete the continued education curriculum as required.
