SUMMARY
As a Site Safety and Health Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe work environment in the construction industry. With core skills in OSHA, Construction management, and EHS, you will oversee safety protocols, conduct inspections, and implement risk mitigation strategies. Your premium skills in Risk management and Occupational health will be vital in identifying and addressing potential hazards, while your experience with DoD and Construction will contribute to the successful execution of projects. Compliance management to uphold industry standards and promote a culture of safety on construction sites.
ROLES and RESPONSISBILITIES
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies on construction sites.
- Follow Corp of Engineers Safety Manual EM 385-1-1
- Conduct regular safety onsite inspections, audit to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Develop and implement safety training programs for construction workers.
- Investigate and report any accidents or incidents that occur on site.
- Collaborate with onsite personnel to address safety concerns and promote a culture of safety.
- Stay current on industry best practices and regulations related to construction safety
- Proficient with accident reporting and root cause investigations.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
· Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry or one in the same of a minimum of 5 years as a safety officer on construction projects.
· Proficient in understanding and implantation of the 40 hr. EM 385-1-1.
· Must have an CHST certification. STS certification is a plus.
· 40-hour OSHA and competent person certifications required.
· Must have completed yearly safety training.
· Must provide proof of current training and certifications.
·Valid Driver's License with Clean Driving record.
·Must have strong interpersonal skills to be able to communicate work requirements with various personnel and subcontractors.
Preferred:
·Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) Certificate.
·Experience with Federal DoD Government contracting is plus.
·High attention to detail and quality workmanship.
Knowledge & Abilities:
·Able to communicate both written and verbally in English.
·Ability to be flexible and adapt to constant change.
·Knowledge of acceptable construction site practices including occupational safety and health regulations.
·Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations.
·Must present a professional demeanor at all times
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
