As our Accounting Controller, you'll have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the financial landscape of our growing organization. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the preparation of consolidated financial statements, managing monthly reporting processes, and developing key performance indicators (KPIs) to gauge our financial health and performance. Key job responsibilities:
- Reviewing franchisee financial statements to provide valuable feedback and guidance.
- Staying abreast of industry trends, accounting regulations, and leading special projects as assigned by management.
- Lead the preparation of brand level, corporate store and consolidated financial statements for the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Assist with the monthly financial reporting process, including the analysis of variances and trends, and providing insights to senior management and private equity sponsors.
- Developing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the financial health and performance of the individual franchising brands and corporate stores, as well as the consolidated company as a whole.
- Manage the monthly closing process.
- Reviewing franchisee financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Providing feedback and guidance to franchisees on financial performance, budgeting, and expense management.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders, including finance, operations, and legal teams, to support business objectives and initiatives.
- Leading and ensuring the annual audit is done timely and on budget.
- Providing financial information for the annual tax return.
- Maintain cash forecast.
- Lead accounting team of on-site and remote employees.
To excel in this role, you'll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.
- Experience in a Private Equity backed organization.
- Experience in franchising or multi-unit environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, including the ability to interpret and present complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, (e.g., Sage Intact) and accounting closing software (e.g Floqast).
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
- Experience in managing a team.
In your first 30 days:
- You'll undergo a comprehensive onboarding process tailored to familiarize you with our systems and procedures. This includes training on our accounting software, shadowing opportunities, and meetings with key stakeholders. By week four, you'll actively contribute to projects and receive ongoing feedback to ensure your success.

Compensation: $130,000- $140,000 plus Bonus Potential
