Description:Labconco is a manufacturer of laboratory equipment headquartered in Kansas City. We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Quality team. The QA Engineer is responsible for implementation and participation in all quality assurance and control programs, practices and procedures in support of established quality expectations and applicable regulatory requirements.
Requirements:Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or components.
- Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
- Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
- Reviews purchased products or components and provides input to the decision of whether to accept the product and future purchases from the vendor.
- Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures.
- May direct/coordinate the daily activities of QA Inspectors in respective assigned departments and assist manager with performance management processes.
- Performing routine inspections, quality tests, and support inspectors as needed in completing inspections on vendor purchased products or components. Provide input to the decision of whether to accept the product and future purchases from the vendor
- Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
- Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
- Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance audits.
- Directs technical administrative workers engaged in quality assurance audits.
- Contributes and participates in problem solving in the manufacturing process(es).
- Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
- Determine and maintain appropriate QMS system, its ISO compliance, and manage the implementation, training and any updates needed in conjunction with team.
Supervisory Responsibilities
While not a direct line supervisor, the Quality Assurance Engineer may assist the QA Manager in all aspects of the performance management processes as relates to the QA Inspectors. This may include approving time cards, approving PTO requests, and approving expense reports at the discretion of the QA Manager.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree preferred; or Associate's degree with five plus years of related experience in Quality Assurance roles. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
