The primary business of our SNF is with short term post-acute rehab. The vast majority of our residents are with us for less than a month while they receive high quality rehabilitation from our team of physical, occupational, and speech therapists as well as great nursing care from our skilled and compassionate nursing team.
Job Description:
Mountain Manor is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department with passion, dedication, and vision. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, clinical expertise, and a commitment to fostering a supportive and uplifting workplace culture.
As an independently owned and operated SNF, this is a great opportunity for a leader who wants the opportunity to have autonomy in their department, to make decisions and see the results that follow and then adjust as needed. We are a small company but provide our DON with the industry support needed along with professional development opportunities through CAHF and the AHCA.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management:
- Oversee all aspects of the nursing department, including staffing, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve clinical outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as adherence to industry best practices.
- Clinical Excellence:
- Provide clinical guidance and support to nursing staff to ensure the highest quality of care for residents.
- Implement evidence-based practices and quality improvement measures to enhance patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans and treatment goals.
- Staff Development and Engagement:
- Recruit, mentor, and retain top talent within the nursing department.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment where staff feel valued, empowered, and supported.
- Facilitate ongoing education and training opportunities to enhance staff competencies and professional growth.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Maintain open lines of communication with staff, residents, families, and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with other department heads to ensure seamless coordination of care and services.
- Act as a liaison between the nursing department and executive leadership, providing regular updates on departmental performance and initiatives.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for improvement within the nursing department and develop actionable plans for enhancement.
- Monitor key performance indicators and quality metrics to drive continuous improvement efforts.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, research findings, and regulatory changes to inform decision-making and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
- Minimum of 4 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role within a skilled nursing facility.
- Strong clinical background with expertise in geriatric care, rehabilitation, and long-term care nursing.
- Proven leadership abilities with a track record of successfully leading teams and driving positive outcomes.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations governing SNFs, including CMS guidelines and survey protocols.
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, and resident-centered care.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year
