At STAr-Edge, you will be part of a skilled R&D team that designs precision testing instruments for semiconductor manufacturers all over the world. We are seeking analog design engineers with the skill set to develop high-precision, low-noise, and high-performance analog measurement instruments.
As a member of a small research team, you and everyone on the team is expected to be skilled in multiple engineering disciplines. Specific responsibilities for this position are to design, verify, and supervise the layout of circuit blocks and systems that comprise VI, SMU, and DMM type instruments.
Qualifications:
BSEE required. MSEE preferred.
10+ years of analog design experience is preferred, but if you have a solid foundation of analog skills, and are exceptionally motivated, we can train you.
Critical Competencies:
This is a “hands-on circuit board” position, where skills with an oscilloscope and soldering iron are required.
o High accuracy voltage and current source experience.
o High resolution ADC and DAC experience.
o Understand low noise layout, shielding, and grounding techniques
o Knowledge of precision low voltage and low current measurements
o Ability to prototype and troubleshoot in the lab
o Ability to write and debug low-level C++ code for instrument control
o Strong schematic skills (DxDesigner or Orcad or Altium)
o Solid understanding of PCB design, manufacturing, and DFM design rules
o Spice simulation experience
o Familiarity with test equipment such as DMM, SMU, oscilloscope, spectral analyzer, TDR, and network analyzer.
