The Inventory Assistant will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our inventory systems. This position involves a combination of manual and computerized tasks to ensure the accurate tracking, organizing, and distribution of inventory. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Accurately record and update inventory levels in our database system.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Organize and maintain the inventory storage area, ensuring it is clean, accessible, and well-organized.
- Prepare and process orders for shipment, including picking, packing, and labeling.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or overages to the Inventory Manager.
- Assist in developing and implementing inventory control procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to fulfill inventory requests and resolve any issues.
- Assist with the disposal of obsolete or excess inventory.
- Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, as needed.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of inventory transactions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in inventory management, warehousing, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 50.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $22.10 - $24.15 per hour
