We are seeking a LPN or RN for the Nurse Supervisor position Sunday and Monday nights 7p-7:30pm
Nurse Supervisor will use his/her nursing knowledge to promote and maintain a healthy and enriched resident-centered care environment to ensure that the Residents’ needs are adequately and appropriately assessed and met. Working closely with the Director of Wellness and the Leadership Team, the WD plays a critical part in the admission and retention of Residents to assure compliance with the New York State Department of Health Regulations for our licensed community. The Nurse Supervisor provides clinical support and assistance to Med Techs while offering continual hands-on support to the Care Managers on the floors. Leading by example, the Nurse Supevisor exhibits the highest level of professionalism and customer service in resolving problems while communicating regularly and in a timely manner to all resident/family questions and requests.
Nurse Supervisor availavle shifts:
- Sunday 7p-7:30a
- Monday 7p-7:30a
- Willingness to rotate holiday coverage with other Nurse Supervisors
- Willingness to be available for leave coverage with other Nurse Supervisors
Duties:
- Provides orientation, supervision, and ongoing coaching of Nurses, Med Assistants, and Care Managers.
- Day to Day communication and empathy in partnering with family members/responding to their concerns in a timely fashion.
- Efficiently/effectively communicate and partner with all levels of Staff.
- Observe residents for changes in physical, social, or mental status, and report such variables to physician and family as required.
- Coordinate Care Manager work schedules with Director of Care Manager
- Reads Daily Communications and emails
- Participate and/or lead Quality Assurance Program
- Willingness to work closely with all members of the Leadership Team – Executive Director, Resident Manager, Assistant Executive Director, Director of Wellness, Director of Care Manager, Director of Recreation, Director of Human Resources, Food Service Director, Building Services Director, and Concierge – sharing critical information in the best interest of the Residents and community.
- Ability to relate to and empower Residents who may be ill, living with a disability, or emotionally upset (as often found in communities dedicated to enhanced memory care).
- Familiarity and ability to administer a med pass
- Must clearly speak, read and write in English as per the NYS DOH regulations for an Assisted Living Residence with certification for both Enhanced Assisted Living and Special Needs Assisted Living.
- Ability and flexibility to tolerate frequent work interruptions and handle multitasking.
- Represents the facility in a polished and professional manner, maintaining conservative business attire at all times.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Current New York State Registered Nursing License in good standing
- Meets all NYS Department of Health requirements.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in an assisted living residence caring for a geriatric population.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience supporting individuals living with Alzheimer's disease or other related dementia
- Proficient computer skills, knowledge, and ability which allow you to use computers and related technology. Ability to use word documents, manage computer files, excel spreadsheets, and create presentations.
- Ability to utilize a Learning Management System
