Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Fire Alarm Inspector to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire alarm systems to ensure they meet all applicable codes and standards. This role requires a strong understanding of fire alarm systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough inspections and testing of fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes.
Identify and document any deficiencies or malfunctions in fire alarm systems.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs to ensure systems operate correctly and efficiently.
Provide detailed reports of inspections, including findings and recommended corrective actions.
Ensure all work complies with NFPA codes, local regulations, and company policies.
Communicate effectively with clients, explaining inspection results and necessary repairs or upgrades.
Stay current with advancements in fire alarm technology and industry best practices.
Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree in electronics or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in fire alarm inspection, installation, or maintenance.
Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and standards related to fire alarm systems, particularly NFPA 72.
NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems is highly desirable.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Proficiency with inspection and testing tools and software.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and work in various environmental conditions, including heights and confined spaces.
