Oil & Gas Revenue/JIB Accountant

Mid-sized privately held Oil and Gas E&P and is actively looking for a full cycle Oil & Gas Accountant (Revenue, JIB, etc.) in our Houston, TX office. Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, able to multi-task, with excellent excel skills and capable of growing with the company. This position is full-time and onsite (hybrid is currently not optional).
The essential job duties include, but are not to be limited to the following:
- Accounts Payable and Joint Interest Billing processing for operated and non-operated properties
- Revenue entry, accrual, and distribution
- Owner account maintenance & transfer
- Lease Operating Expense analysis
- Bank reconciliations for deposit accounts
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and subledgers; review for input accuracy and prepare monthly reports and journal entries as needed
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including cash flow forecast and depletion calculations
- Prepare lead schedules for the annual financial audit and tax returns
- Develop customized detailed reports as requested by management
- Work directly with operations teams to analyze costs and production
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years' experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Prior oil & gas experience is a must
- Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills; accuracy and timeliness are essential
- Ability to cooperate with all levels of employees, management and external agencies
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Self-motivated and willingness to work in fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- 10 key by touch
- Experience with WolfPac or OGSYS as well as Energylink integration preferred.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
