The Bay City Electric Works team provides standby generator, energy storage, and engine solutions to make back up power a certainty for our customers. With over 130 employees and growing, BCEW brings the stability and structure of an established business, while still valuing the individual team members that support our success and to be the go-to generator systems supplier in California, Nevada, and Hawaii. Offering quality brands like KOHLER® and Doosan/Bobcat, the BCEW team provides new equipment, service, and rental power solutions for commercial, municipal, and residential customers that require emergency generator back-up power.
We are currently looking for a talented Senior Accountant for our Poway, CA location. This individual will be responsible for overseeing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
Role and Responsibilities:
Lead the timely and efficient 5-day financial close process.
Manage full-cycle accounting operations with precision and accuracy.
Execute complex journal entries and conduct thorough account reconciliations.
Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
Maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Serve as a key liaison during annual review, working closely with external auditors.
Experience and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience.
Proficiency in Great Plains or similar accounting software is highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with teams across various departments.
Experience with inventory.
Strong analytical skills coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
Proven track record of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
Thorough understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
Familiarity with integrated financial and ERP systems is advantageous.
Proactive problem-solving abilities and a strategic approach to financial challenges.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Genuine enjoyment in building and nurturing professional relationships.
Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Competitive Pay & Growth opportunities: Pay range for this role is $80,000 - $100,000 total compensation, dependent on experience
