Starcon is seeking a Pipe Superintendent to join our team in the La Porte, TX area. Must be able to travel and work on project assignments through out the US. Must have capitol construction lump sum experience.
Experience:
The right candidate will have five years’ or more experience in the petrochemical industry, with previous experience in the Superintendent or General Field Foreman role.

Role and Responsibilities:
Motivate team through effective team member relations and strong leadership. Ensure that the foreman and their team members are following all Starcon and client rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Prepare performance evaluations on foreman.
Provide constructive input on proposals prior to submittal, analyzing a project during all phases and developing alternative methods to shorten schedules and increase profits.
Ensure an effective safety program is in place to identify and correct safety hazards, respond to safety audit findings, and emphasize good safety practices.
Lead all site-wide safety meetings.
Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of the work related to management policies and general business operations.
Maintain communications related to job status and cost/revenue projections with your supervisor.
Communicate any delays or scope deviations to the Project Manager and/or client so they can be addressed.
Ensure contract compliance.
Coordinate the activities and responsibilities of subcontractors to ensure effective performance in accordance with contract terms, project schedules and requirements.
Provide input into all job progress reports to accurately reflect project status.
Develop site staffing and manpower plans.
Monitor job progress, project schedules, and identify potential problems.
Lead team and staff meetings.
Coach, council and develop direct reports.
Work with HR, safety, and site project manager to discipline and terminate team members.
Maintain a daily log to permanently record all significant project facts, events, conditions, delays, visitors, owner representative communications, commitments, agreements, and approvals.
Coordinate tool and material requirements with Logistics personnel.
You will ensure adequate document controls are in place.
Generally, participate in all new hire orientations. Oversee job expenditures and project accounting processes.
You will monitor daily costs of the project in relation the project budget. Communicate daily cost reporting to the client and ensure all costs are accurate and correctly coded.
Participate in the review and estimating of change orders. Track change orders and communicate status to the client for approval.
Distribute and collect client post job audits. Conduct site performance analysis with site supervision and staff.
Required Skills:
Broad industrial construction knowledge
Lump Sum projects experience
Excellence organizational skills
Previous experience in leading, coaching and coordinating projects.
Ability to build team relationships.
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
Working knowledge of computer programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to budget, estimate and schedule.
Ability to complete change orders and project cost controls.
Purchasing experience

Ability to periodically work extended hours and shifts when deemed necessary.
Work Environment
The work environment will require you to work in SCBA, special protective PPE specific to the unit and working at heights. Extended work hours may be required. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Must be physically able to carry up to 50 lbs. of tools and/or material.
