Position Summary/Purpose:
The Product Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing, and successfully bringing to market new or similar products. A technical vision and development of Dunbarton’s products and their applications to various markets, collaborating with sales, marketing and support teams. Serve customers and sales representatives by supplying technical product knowledge to identify customer needs for Dunbarton products and services. Be the critical point of contact for customers and the field sales force by providing pre- and after-sales product advice. Responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation as the key technical advisor and product advocate for Dunbarton products.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities/Functions/Tasks:
- Research and develop market & customer opportunities for new, modified, or similar products.
- Analyze market potential, costing, pricing for new, modified, or similar products.
- Manage the development and lead the execution of bringing products to market.
- Lead, manage, and/or mentor a team of product managers, developers, and related personnel.
- Product project planning and leadership, assignment of tasks and deliverables.
- Manage product lifecycle from concept to launch of the product(s).
- Function as the technical lead and resource on developed products.
- Lead, define, represent, and communicate product strategy to all stakeholders.
- Assess product development sprints and enhancement opportunities.
- Develop budgets, forecasts, and metrics.
- Monitor product development sprints and evaluate results.
- Create and manage the product roadmap, communicating progress with C-level staff, board members, and other stakeholders.
- Lead Product Marketing Managers to assess product mix and marketing strategy.
- Monitor and manage strategic marketing plans for each product or product line.
- Define pricing and competitive positioning for each product.
- Drive innovative ideas, solutions, and products through leadership and decisive action.
- Resolve customer complaints regarding products.
- Collaborate with customers and internal resources to develop new products and new applications of current products. Consult with engineers to discuss and interpret design concepts and determine requirements for detailed working drawings.
- Coordinate closely with Regional Sales Managers and Dunbarton distributors on technical details and advantages of Dunbarton products.
- Perform other job-related tasks and special projects as assigned by department management.
- Assist Customer Response Team to prepare and process orders, including specific customer requests, including preparing or modifying detailed technical drawings and product dimensions to satisfy customer needs and ensure customer satisfaction. Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.
- Assist in preparing cost estimates by drawing and/or studying blueprints, engineering, or technical drawings (CAD/AutoCAD), and related customer documents and requirements.
- Travel as necessary to customer locations, trade shows, other Dunbarton locations, and other required travel.
- Develop new or similar product lines to penetrate new markets and customers.
- Collaborate with the sales team to target, gain, develop, and grow the customer base with new and similar product offerings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business or Technical field of study.
- Six (6) years of experience as a product leader or sales leader
- Demonstrate strategic & creative thought process and able to craft go-to-market strategies and campaigns in collaboration with marketing.
- Demonstrate knowledge of operational issues (portfolio management, risk management, etc.)
- Ability to formulate and implement global strategies for products.
- Demonstrate customer-centric mindset with the capability of translating that into the product development process.
- Successfully implemented data-driven processes to turn a vision into an actionable roadmap.
- Proven track record of people leadership with demonstrated success in leading and mentoring the research, design, and development team.
- Demonstrate a strong project management skills and attention to detail.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
