The individual will provide services in programs of special education and alternative education for students in grades 6-12. The position involves supervising students, some computer and clerical duties, and managing classroom routines. The individual will need the ability to work independently, have strong behavior management skills, have the ability to work with teachers and peers in a collaborative culture, and have problem-solving skills. A mature and calm demeanor, conflict resolution skills, and the ability to learn technology such as iPads and Promethean boards are desired. Regarding physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position, requirements may include the abilities to regularly and repetitively stand, walk, sit, lift, carry, bend, stoop, crouch, reach, push, pull, crawl, and kneel. Regular attendance and dependability are required. Other responsibilities may be assigned. The assignment is subject to change. The anticipated salary is $22,800 (equating to $20.21 per hour, on the bases of a work year of 188 days and a work day of six (6) hours exclusive of lunch). Excellent benefits package.
