In the role of Geologist 2/Geomorphologist 2, we will count on you to:
- Assist with geologic and hydrologic studies, including field work, and other hydrologic, geologic, geophysical tasks both locally and nationally
- Assist with other environmental tasks as needed including Phase I ESA's, and others
- Assist with contaminated site remediation tasks
- Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of service deliverable documents
- Perform assignments requiring application of moderately complex objectives and limited variables
- Design and plan production for transportation hydraulics related projects, including drainage and channel design and hydraulic, site assessments and associated activities
- Prepare fluvial geomorphic studies and reports.
- Perform quantity calculations.
- Prepare specifications and contract documents.
- Work with Project team to develop design solutions.
- Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of service deliverable documents.
- Perform assignments requiring application of moderately complex objectives and limited variables.
- Work independently on medium-size projects or assist more-senior scientists on larger projects.
- Function as a Technical Specialist or Project Manager on mid-size projects as needed, but project management is not the sole focus of this position.
- Supervise a small staff of professionals and technicians as needed.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) license
- Self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability and willingness to perform physically demanding tasks in adverse environmental conditions (rugged terrain, remote locations, hot and cold temperatures).
- Proficient with HEC-RAS and other hydraulic modeling software.
- Exposure to MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, familiarity and demonstrated experience with civil engineering software such as Bentley Concept Station and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil 3D; specialty civil platforms (e.g., Openflows) as required.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Science, Hydrogeology or closely related field

A minimum of 5 years of experience

Prior experience with field work and different environmental and/or remedial technologies

Experience with well installation techniques, and groundwater and soil sampling procedures and analysis

Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs

Strong oral and written communication skills

Leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment
