RESPONSIBILITIES, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Operation, use, minor repair, and maintenance of printing and related equipment
- Adjusting schedule to flex for holiday surges; including but not limited to Father’s Day and Winter Holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas)
- Use data manipulation to help set daily goals, predict future needs and plan for the holiday surges.
- Manages production and staff to meet daily goals.
- Maintains knowledge base of all areas of production to include inventory, production numbers, order volume, etc.
- Help to lead the Warehouse Lead and Finance Team to improve Inventory Management. Assist with building top level reporting, ordering and maintenance of raw materials.
- Assist the VP Finance and Director of Manufacturing in conducting and verifying the monthly inventory process.
- Meet the productivity, quality, and safety goals.
- Ensure all equipment is in working order and that working conditions are safe.
- Drive the continuous improvement agenda in area of responsibility through teamwork, skills, and capability development.
- Staff, train, evaluate and develop team members to include temporary hires during peak seasons. Clear communication with temporary/seasonal hires, many of whom are English as a second language, is necessary.
- Basic building maintenance as needed.
- Clearly communicates with the Director of Manufacturing. Including but not limited to areas of staff performance and floor concerns.
- Responsible for the closing of the warehouse/print area including employees, pickups, and deliveries.
- Assist with staffing levels, PTO planning, Lunches and Breaks
- Back up the Director of Manufacturing during absences and as requested including leading the morning huddle.
- Manage staffing to cover for planned and unplanned absences to ensure that daily goals are met.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience & Skills:
- Three years of print operations or on-demand manufacturing
- Ability to make decisions, communicate and problem solve. Initiative-taking collaborator who models appropriate communication and behavior amongst one another.
- Oversight of Inventory management
- Strong Oral and written communication skills
- High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate
- Strong Computer Skills including Microsoft Office with high excel efficiency required.
Physical Requirements / Working Condition:
- Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
- Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull weights, up to fifty pounds.
- Requires the ability to read English.
- Overtime is required for the fourth quarter of the year (October – December) including Saturdays.
- The ability to meet production timelines.
