We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team. You will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and support. You will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure efficient clinical operations and the delivery of excellent patient services.
How you will make an impact
- Assist healthcare providers in patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Take vital signs, record patient information, and update medical records accurately
- Prepare patients for examinations and explain procedures when necessary
- Maintain electronic health records (EHR) and ensure that patient information is complete and up to date
- Assist in coding and billing procedures as required
- Greet patients in a professional and compassionate manner
- Answer patient inquiries and provide information on medical procedures and appointments
- Prepare and educate patients on any necessary pre-appointment instructions
- Collect blood samples and other specimens for laboratory testing
- Ensure proper labeling and handling of specimens to maintain accuracy and integrity
- Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sanitary clinical environment
- Sterilize medical instruments and equipment as needed
- Ensure that medical equipment is in proper working condition
- Manage inventory and restock medical supplies as necessary
What we are looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Active certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting
- Experience working with people who have a history of substance use disorder
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and EHR systems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
- Flexibility to work in a dynamic workplace
- Ability to work in person
- CPR certification
- Ability to work both weekday and weekend shifts
- This position operates in a clinical healthcare environment
- This role may need to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and occasionally lift and move patients or equipment
